NexGen Library Intefaces-All Alliance Conference

Close to 200 librarians attended the Next Generation Library Interfaces All Alliance conference.  The day began with a welcome from Alan Charnes,executive director of the Alliance.  Immediately following, MarshallBreeding, Director for Innovative Technologies and Research fromVanderbilt University, provided an overview of the marketplace of nextgeneration library interfaces.  Representatives from Aquabrowser, OCLC,TLC, and Ex Libris gave presentations on their Next Generationproduct.  Glen Newton, Researcher from the National Research Council ofCanada was the afternoon keynote and provided a case study on opensource tools.
